Hello!
I’m Leonie Weigel an aspiring UX/UI and Brand Designer, currently living in Mainz, Germany.
I first came in contact with UX and UI Design during my bachelor's degree at Hochschule Mainz and immediately liked and engaged with the subject, because it was a „form" of design that I hadn’t encountered from a designers perspective before. Bad User Interfaces were always something that had bothered me in my daily life, even though I couldn’t pinpoint what exactly was wrong . Therefore, learning the principles and rules of UX and UI Design was something very valuable and useful to me.
After finishing my bachelor’s degree, I decided to dive further into the subject and make it my career. I enrolled in a UI Design course to strengthen those skills, since the UI part always fell a little short at uni. I’m excited to combine my skills in UX/UI and Brand Design, to create aesthetically pleasing, intuitive and useful products.
I have been into photography, especially portrait photography, since I was a teenager. Thankfully, the skills I’ve picked up by practising photography for many years are now very useful in my new career. Having people in front of the lens and making them feel comfortable requires a lot of empathy and communication skills. Photography has made me be able to comprehend people on a deeper level than just the surface. UX and UI Design requires me to understand people on a similar level, especially when it comes to user research and testings and I’ve been able to transfer my knowledge and skill into this new career.
I’m looking for full-time UX/UI and Brand Design positions in Germany. I want to work with a team that is enthusiastic about creating user-centric projects and aesthetically pleasing products. I am excited about the prospect of taking on responsibilities that help me gain new skills and expertise.
I am always looking forward to hearing about potential opportunities!
